How to Connect Your Namecheap Domain to a Vercel App

Learn how to connect a Namecheap domain to an app deployed on Vercel.
Introduction
If you have purchased a domain from Namecheap and want to connect it to your Vercel app, follow these steps.
Step 1: Add your domain to Vercel
Sign in to Vercel and open your project. Go to Settings → Domains, enter your domain, and add it to the project.
Step 2: Review Vercel's DNS instructions
After adding the domain, Vercel will show the DNS records it expects. The required records depend on whether you are connecting the apex domain (such as example.com) or a subdomain (such as www.example.com). Use the values shown for your domain in Vercel.
Step 3: Add the DNS records in Namecheap
Sign in to Namecheap and open Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS. Add or update the records Vercel requested. For example, an apex domain commonly uses an A record with host @, while www commonly uses a CNAME record. Use Vercel's current values rather than copying values from another setup. Remove conflicting records if Vercel instructs you to do so.
Step 4: Verify the domain
Return to the Domains page in Vercel. It will check the DNS configuration and show when the domain is connected. DNS changes may take time to propagate.
Conclusion
Once the DNS records match Vercel's instructions and have propagated, your Namecheap domain should point to your Vercel app. If verification fails, compare each record in Namecheap with the values shown in Vercel.
